HAS2 and neoplasm: Certainly, EAC patient biopsies showed increased expression of HA in the tumor microenvironment (Figure 1A), whereas RNA-Seq analysis of 286 esophageal carcinoma (ESCA) tissues collected from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and The Genome-Tissue Expression Project (GTEx) (29) confirmed increased expression of HA synthesis genes (HAS1, HAS2, UDGH) as compared with 283 normal esophageal tissues (Figure 1B).
