Vitamin D receptors (VDR) are present in many tissues throughout the body, and a lack of 25‐OHD has been associated with various health conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders, metabolic and autoimmune diseases, respiratory and cardiovascular issues, cancer, psychiatric disorders, chronic pain, and hypothyroidism (Adorini, 2005; Taheriniya et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene VDR and cancer.
