Among the more significantly upregulated genes in the high-fat group were the ITGA4 gene, which plays a role in cell motility and migration34,35, the FSCN1 gene, which plays a role in metastasis of a variety of cancers36–38, the TWIST1 gene, which promotes tumor cell invasion and metastatic recurrence39–41, and the IGFBP2 gene, which promotes the growth of several tumors and predicts prognosis42–44, among others. This evidence concerns the gene TWIST1 and neoplasm.
