According to existing research, SFN can inhibit glucose metabolism in human liver cancer, gastric cancer, and prostate cancer cells by downregulating the expression of serine palmitoyltransferase 3 (SPTLC3), glycolysis-related enzymes including hexokinase 2 (HK2), pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2), lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), and T-box transcription factor 15 (TBX15), and upregulating the expression of kinesin family member 2 C (KIF2C). This evidence concerns the gene TBX15 and prostate cancer.
