RPS6KA3 and triple-negative breast carcinoma: We recently presented strong evidence supporting the notion that this role is played by the p90 ribosomal S6 kinase (RSK2), coded by the RPS6KA3 gene, which has been hitherto recognized primarily for its role in brain development [RPS6KA3 mutations cause the Coffin-Lowry developmental syndrome (Hanauer and Young, 2002; Jacquot et al., 2002)] and cancer progression [it is a recognized target for cancer therapy, particularly the triple-negative breast cancer (Huynh et al., 2020)].
