Studies have shown that treatment with a non-ATP competitive GSK-3β inhibitor, tideglusib, in TDP-43 (A315T) transgenic mice not only reduces the levels of phosphorylated TDP-43 in the mouse spinal cord but also delays symptom onset, improves motor function, and slows disease progression, further supporting the role of GSK-3β in the pathogenesis of ALS (Martínez-González et al., 2021).
