Metabolomic profiling of gastric cancer cells made resistant to the anti-HER2 monoclonal antibody trastuzumab revealed that resistant cell lines maintained heightened levels of citrate synthase (CS) and ATP citrate lyase (ACLY), and had a significant increase in the metabolites citrate, fumarate, and phosphoenolpyruvic acid, compared to their sensitive counterparts (Liu et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene CS and gastric cancer.
