RIPK2 and stroke disorder: RIPK2 associates with caspase-1 and promotes oxygen–glucose deprivation-induced cell death [21] and is also an upstream regulator of transforming growth-factor-beta-activated kinase-1 (TAK1) [22], the master regulator of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pro-inflammatory signaling, whose inhibition improves outcomes for animals after stroke [23–25].
