The results showed that glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1) agonists and thiazolidinediones (TZD) reduced the risk of stroke, while sulfonylureas (SU), dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors, sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, meglitinides, and metformin had no effect on stroke risk. This evidence concerns the gene SLC5A2 and stroke disorder.
