VMP1 and colonic neoplasm: TP53INP2 is a dual regulator of transcription and enhances autophagy.[32] It interacts with the transmembrane protein VMP1, contributing to the formation of autophagosome.[33] Importantly, TP53INP2 has been reported to be implicated in several human cancers, including colon cancer.[27,34,35] Taken together, our study suggested that miR-142-3p may promote colon cancer progression by regulating autophagy.
