Clinical features, including age and age-related comorbidities (such as lung disorders, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes mellitus) as well as elevated laboratory parameters (C-reactive protein, ferritin, D-dimer, lactate dehydrogenase, lymphocytes) have been established as consistent predictors of severe COVID-19 associated with pneumonia, subsequent immediate care unit admission, and a fatal outcome [1,2,3,6,7].
