Treatment with CNP-miR146a four hours after infection resulted in significantly decreased relative gene expression of TRAF6 (p = 0.01), NF-κB (p = 0.003), IL-6 (p = 0.01), MIP-2 (p = 0.005), IL-1β (p = 0.01), and TNFα (p = 0.003) compared to untreated, MRSA-infected lungs.
