CRP and HELLP syndrome: One patient with a history of HELLP syndrome (Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes, Low Platelets) [177] had a platelet count of 62 k post HDDCT, which has been slowly returning to normal post therapy on high dose folic acid and B12 as she suffers from ongoing inflammation [178] i.e., sedimentation rate (ESR) 55 (normal range for a female <50 years old: ≤20 mm/h) [179], with an elevated CRP 8.2 (normal range < 0.3 mg/dL) [180] as well as chronic gastritis and low B12 levels.
