Serum NT-proBNP was found to be significantly higher in ADHF compared to CHF patients [4706 pg/mL (1237, 8438) vs. 1232 pg/mL (566, 3509), respectively (p = 0.007)] while there was no significant difference in saliva NT-proBNP levels between the two groups, [15.1 pg/mL (10.4, 30.6) vs. 8.6 pg/mL (7.1, 35.2), respectively (p = 0.122)] (Table 2). Here, NPPB is linked to congestive heart failure.
