Some other genetic causes have been associated with ALS [6], these being Cu-Zn superoxide dismutase (SOD1) [26], TAR DNA Binding Protein (TARDBP) [27], and Fused in Sarcoma (FUS) gene [28,29], the most frequent causes after C9ORF72. The gene discussed is SOD1; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
