Currently, six urinary biomarker tests are approved for the diagnosis or surveillance of bladder cancer (Table 1): quantitative nuclear matrix protein 22 (NMP22) (Alere NMP22), qualitative NMP22 (BladderChek), qualitative bladder tumor antigen (BTA) (BTA stat), quantitative BTA (BTA TRAK), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) (UroVysion), and fluorescent immunohistochemistry (ImmunoCyt).
