Later publications showed that administering the murine surrogate (VERVE-201mu) in an Ldlr KO model of homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia led to a mean 47% decrease in LDL cholesterol after administration of VERVE-201, and an accompanying decrease in triglyceride concentrations in blood. The gene discussed is LDLR; the disease is familial hypercholesterolemia.
