MAPT and Alzheimer disease: Although previous reports have identified EVs as potential carriers of important molecules involved in AD pathophysiology, including Aβ and tau [28,29,30], and several differentially expressed miRNAs have been identified in the blood, brain, and CSF of patients with AD, this work identifies that ad-sEVs can be isolated from both serum and CSF of patients with AD and are a novel mechanism of delivering potentially pathogenic miRNAs from adipocytes to the CSF.
