In another study where the human gastric cancer cell line SNU-16 was treated with piperine at concentrations of 0, 50, 100, and 150 μM for 18 h, the expression of p-PI3K and p-Akt was shown to decrease in a concentration-dependent manner, demonstrating an apoptosis-inducing effect by inhibiting the PI3K pathway [59]. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and gastric cancer.
