pSS patients have high levels of cytokines produced by Th1, Th2, Th17, Tregs, B cells and salivary gland epithelial cells, including IL-1, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-17, IL-21, IL-22, TNF-α, IFN-γ, macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF), B cell activating factor (BAFF), and mast cell growth factor (MCGF) [10,11,12].
