Interestingly, the most significant result of the gene disease association dataset analysis revealed 22 genes involved in the tobacco use disorder category (MYO10, LAMA1, RNF180, NEK6, CRMP1, FAM189A1, SORCS1, MCC, PTPN13, CCDC102B, CDH7, RCAN1, NKAIN3, CHL1, COL4A1, ASXL3, TNIP3, ERG, APOB, KCNK2, L3MBTL4, and SH3GL2) and 6 genes related to diseases linked with alterations in the lipid profile (cholesterol, HDL, and triglycerides). Here, CHL1 is linked to nicotine dependence.
