A large-scale study with 3196 high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma patients revealed that CD8+ TILs were associated with longer patient survival regardless of the extent of the residual disease following cytoreduction, the type of oncological treatment, and the germline BRCA1 pathogenic mutation; however, no associations could be found for BRCA2 mutation carriers [25]. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and ovarian serous carcinoma.
