As FN14 is over-expressed in a variety of tumors, such as CRC and pancreatic cancer, and nutrient deprivation is a common characteristic of the tumor microenvironment [8,21,30], we further asked if FN14 induction is specific to glutamine deprivation using different cancer lines under a few different metabolic stress conditions.
