Additionally, when the analysis was stratified based on the source of NPC samples, it was observed that there were strong associations between DAPK promoter methylation and NPC among individuals whose samples were obtained through NPC biopsy tissue (OR = 15.32, 95%CI = 1.86–125.93, p < 0.0001), indicating that DAPK gene methylation is highly indicative of NPC risk when assessed using biopsy tissue samples.
