INS and Glucose intolerance: Guava polysaccharide administration ameliorated body weight gain (decrease of approximately 50%), decreased energy intake, reduced triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL-c, blood glucose, ALT, and aspartate transaminase (AST) levels, improved glucose intolerance and insulin sensitivity, and decreased lipid accumulation in the liver tissue and hepatic TNF-α and NF-κB levels [56].
