In conclusion, the current study has demonstrated an important role of 7-HF in protecting heart against ischemic injury by suppressing oxidative stress and inflammation due to the modulation of Nrf2 and iNOS genes and improving cardiac function by the inhibition of voltage-dependent calcium channels (decreasing calcium overload), indicating 7-HF a promising effective agent for MI. This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and myocardial infarction.
