Using biomarkers of ED, coagulation, and innate immune response, such as VCAM-1, soluble tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-receptor I, heparan sulfate, von Willebrand factor antigen, α2-antiplasmin, C5b9, neutrophil extracellular traps, PlGF, sFlt-1, and angiopoietin 2, they demonstrated that both pregnant women with preeclampsia and COVID-19 showed altered profiles of circulating biomarkers compared to healthy pregnant women. This evidence concerns the gene PGF and preeclampsia.
