RUNX1 is reported to be a key regulator in the TGFβ signaling pathway that prevents the progression of HCC [47], and previous studies have suggested that RUNX1 may play an important role in regulating EMT by interacting with the intracellular TGFβ/Smad signaling pathway [48,49,50]. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
