The anemic rats developed iron deficiency anemia with lower iron and higher transferrin levels (68.1 ± 22.6 μg/dL vs. 182.8 ± 70.7 μg/dL, p < 0.001; 170.5 ± 35.3 mg/dL vs. 120.2 ± 22.1 mg/dL, p < 0.01), respectively (Figure 2). The gene discussed is TF; the disease is anemia.
