Although tumors in children present a low mutational rate in comparison to adult neoplasms [7], specific chromosomal aberrations (1p and 11q loss and 17q gain) [8,9], mutations in certain genes (ALK, PHOX2B, ATRX, and TERT), and amplification of the MYCN oncogene are linked to NB tumorigenesis and outcome [10,11]. This evidence concerns the gene MYCN and neuroblastoma.
