The study by Muley et al. combined preoperative CYFRA21-1 (cut-off values: 3.3 ng/mL) and CEA (cut-off values: 9.8 ng/mL) to form a new parameter named tumour marker index (TMI) and demonstrated that elevated TMI (>0.54) negatively affected OS in stage I–II NSCLC patients [146].
