According to our results it was revealed that intrarectal administration of AA leads to a significant deterioration in the levels of these parameters (lowering in GSH content, and CAT, SOD, and GPx activities, while MDA content showed an elevation) where these results are consistent with results of previous studies which has been shown that AA-induced colitis leads to an extensive increase in the production of oxidative free radicals such as ROS [34, 35]. This evidence concerns the gene SOD1 and colitis.
