LPA and coronary artery disorder: A case–control study recruited 3145 case subjects with coronary artery disease and 3352 control subjects from four European countries; in this study, two common Lp(a) variants (rs10455872 and rs3798220) were shown to be strongly associated with both an increased level of Lp(a) lipoprotein [explaining together 36% of the total variation in Lp(a) concentration] and an increased risk of coronary disease [89].
