Women with hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome have an increased risk of developing cancer, mainly breast cancer (BC)—absolute risk > 60% for BRCA1/2 carriers—and ovarian cancer (OC)—absolute risk of 39–58% for BRCA1 and 13–29% for BRCA2 carriers [1]. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and hereditary breast ovarian cancer syndrome.
