In our Japanese cohort, the strongest association with the disease was observed in multiple SNPs in complete LD located within 10 kb upstream of PDGFRA (e.g., rs7673984 and rs4864857) in the cases with corneal astigmatism of ≤ − 1.25 D. Considering the above, the minor allele(s) of rs7677751, rs6554163, rs7673984, and rs4864857 and/or other SNPs in strong LD with these four SNPs may contribute to the development of corneal astigmatism. Here, PDGFRA is linked to Corneal astigmatism.
