CD274 and metastatic neoplasm: This finding contrasts with using the PD-L1 biomarker to predict response to immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with metastatic disease.37,38 Combining treatment with an immune checkpoint inhibitor and radiation is under investigation and may improve response.39 Although durvalumab was used sparingly in this cohort, with only 6 of 31 patients in the no-driver mutation group receiving any durvalumab therapy, cases receiving durvalumab prior to surgery trended towards a higher chance for MPR (83% vs. 53%, OR 0.45, p = 0.16).
