Further investigation into the role of disease‐associated microglia/DAM, and interaction with genes (TREM2) and pathogenic signaling, may provide important information to predict which non‐CNS cancer patients will go on to develop detrimental (opposed to beneficial (Pons & Rivest, 2020) microglial activation and related systemic symptomatology post treatment/remission. This evidence concerns the gene TREM2 and central nervous system cancer.
