To assess whether the protection conferred by ALR Myo9b relies on T cells, we adoptively transferred naive CD4+ T cells isolated from 5-week-old BDC2.5 NOD mice into NOD-scid (T and B cell deficient) and ALR Myo9b KI NOD-scid recipient mice, followed by monitoring diabetes incidence (Fig. 6a). This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and diabetes mellitus.
