Nine drugs had five supporting studies: the second-generation antipsychotic medications aripiprazole and risperidone, the tyrosine kinase inhibitors sunitinib and vandetanib, the histone deacetylase inhibitor vorinostat (used to treat cutaneous T-cell lymphoma), the antidiabetic drug pioglitazone, the selective estrogen receptor modulator tamoxifen, the calcium channel blocker and antihypertensive medication verapamil, and adenosine (used in treating certain types of cardiac arrhythmia). This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and cardiac rhythm disease.
