In a retrospective study on the posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES, one of the radiological manifestations of septic encephalopathy) in 151 patients, both in univariate and multivariate analyses, higher levels of CRP were associated with in-hospital death (Siebert et al., 2017) (Figure 4).
