We found preliminary evidence to suggest that the interaction between COMT and ApoE relates to performance in areas of cognition specifically associated with Alzheimer’s disease, including loss of episodic and semantic memory as represented by immediate learning/memory and semantic fluency (Butters et al., 1987; Vonk et al., 2020), as well as overall cognition. This evidence concerns the gene COMT and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
