The mortality rate was higher in patients with one exon 10 MEFV variant compared with those with two variants (Supplementary Fig. S4, available at Rheumatology online), and there was a tendency for higher mortality in FMF patients with other MEFV variants compared with those with a homozygous p.M694V variant (Supplementary Fig. S5, available at Rheumatology online). This evidence concerns the gene MEFV and familial Mediterranean fever.
