Even though APC is one of CRC’s most prevalently mutated driver genes, this gene is not included in prognostic classifications.23 In our study, we found 32.9% mutations in the APC gene, which is lower than the rate of mutations reported in the literature (50%-81%).7 Most of our patients were in the advanced stage, and this low rate may be due to regional determinants. This evidence concerns the gene APC and colorectal carcinoma.
