Inhibition of the cGAS-STING pathway reduces the release of inflammatory molecules and the development of inflammation-related diseases.28,30,31,33,43 Hiroshi Maekawa et al. found that the cGAS-STING pathway triggered inflammatory responses and AKI progression, and genetic knockout of STING ameliorated inflammatory responses and AKI progression.33 Danielle A Sliter et al. showed that inflammation mediated by STING is triggered by mutations in parkin and PINK1.
