CD4 and tuberculosis: Studies reported that several factors, such as advanced WHO clinical staging (III or IV) [7,9], poor ART drug adherence [7], not receiving isoniazid preventive therapy (IPT) [9,10], absence of cotrimoxazole preventive therapy (CPT) [9], anemia (Hgb < 10 g/dL) [9,10], low CD4 count [9,11], and malnutrition [9,10] were significantly increasing the risk of incidence of TB among children receiving ART.
