CRP and Thrombocytopenia: Laboratory findings were notable for severe thrombocytopenia (platelets <2,000/μL [normal for age = 150,000–450,000]), elevated liver enzymes (aspartate aminotransferase and alanine transaminase), elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein, hypoalbuminemia, nephrotic-range proteinuria, and microscopic hematuria.
