In both cases translocations involved several genes, including BRCA1, an oncosuppressor gene related among the others with breast carcinoma, and COL1A1, involved in the deposition of type 1 collagen whose disregulations have been demonstrated to be associated with diseases such as dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans and giant cell fibroblastoma. Here, BRCA1 is linked to dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans.
