SIRT2 and diabetic cardiomyopathy: One study showed that deletion of Sirt2 reduces AMPK activation and increases age-related and angiotensin II-mediated cardiac hypertrophy (Tang et al., 2017), while another showed that advanced glycation end products and its receptor promote diabetic cardiomyopathy through suppression of SIRT2, however, KO mice were not used for these studies (Yuan et al., 2015).
