REN and diabetes mellitus: Higher levels of serum endotrophin were associated with higher age, diabetes duration, BMI, UAE, systolic blood pressure; lower eGFR; a higher proportion were prescribed anti-hypertensive, renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) blockade, and lipid-lowering treatment; and a higher proportion with a history of MACE and sight-threatening diabetic eye disease (Table 1).
