CD274 and non-small cell lung carcinoma: The first programmed death ligand 1 (PD‐L1) inhibitor, atezolizumab was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 20161 and, since then, other anti‐PD‐L1 agents, such as durvalumab2 and avelumab,3 have shown to have significant clinical benefits in a wide variety of cancers, such as urothelial carcinoma,1, 2, 3 non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC),4 and colorectal cancer.5
